Syracuse's annual Salt City Tournament drew 23 players last week, all of whom got cake and a new Go book.
In the six-player A division, Eric Osman and Jared Beck both finished with 3-1 records and split the 1st/2nd place prize money, taking home $125 each, while in the larger B division, Joe Fratianni won all four of his games, with four players -- Howard Canaway, Peter Day, Jim Gonnella, and Eric Hookway -- finishing with 3-1 records. Jesse Valle's 3-1 record put him on top of the C division.
“There were no losers at this tournament,” reports Richard Moseson. “BadukPop provided three one-year Pro memberships that were given to correct solvers of the tournament's Cake Problem, and every player was able to select a new go book to take home at the end of the day.”
