New at www.usgo.org
February 09, 2004
By Roy Laird, AGA Webmaster

If you haven't visited the American Go Association's website lately, you haven't seen some
exciting new additions. In fact, you could visit and miss them if you don't know where to
look. So here's the inside scoop.

CHAPTER SERVICES PAGE: A new section has been added describing the benefits of chapter status at http://www.usgo.org/AGAChapters/chapters.asp. We hope this will help chapters make more use of the services available to them, and lead to the formation of new chapters.

HIKARU NO GO POSTER: The people at Shonen Jump have a created a poster for the AGA's exclusive use. Go to http://www.shonenjump.com/mangatitles/hng/poster/ to download the poster as a pdf file, for your bedroom wall, go club or any other use you choose (subject to licensing restrictions).

TOP TEN REASONS TO PLAY GO: We're ready for Letterman, with our expanded "What Is Go?" section at http://www.usgo.org/resources/whatisgo.asp. The place to send people who ask, "What is go and why should I care?"

THE AMERICAN GO FOUNDATION: In case you missed the announcement a few weeks ago, The American Go Foundation is taking it to the next level with a website that makes it easy to apply for financial support for your Go teaching program. Click on http://www.usgo.org/agf/ to learn how to support Go instruction, or receive support.

NEW LINK: http://fuseki.info is a new application of the BiGo database system, which we discussed in a previous column. In this application, you can compare an opening to a database of 28,000 professional games. How common were each of the opening moves? Where did you go wrong? This is your chance to find out.
