PDF and SGF Help

PDF is a standard document format created by Adobe to facilitate the exchange of documents that can be viewed in their original form.  The files in .pdf format can be read and printed using Adobe's Acrobat Reader which can be downloaded for free from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.  If you have the Reader software already installed on your computer, the .pdf should open automatically when you click on link.  You can also browse for the files directly.  From the CD Root, open the \pdf directory.  All the .pdf files are stored there and in it's subdirectories.

SGF is a standard game file format that allows the easy exchange of Game Records and problem files.

To view the .sgf files, click on the link.  Some browsers may allow you to open the file directly in your .sgf reader.  Otherwise save to your computer and then open using an .sgf reader such as Many Faces of Go or SmartGo. Readers who need .sgf readers can get them for most platforms at Jan van der Steen's http://gobase.org/sgfeditors.html

You can also browse the game and problem files using a file management tool or use your favorite .sgf viewer and open the .sgf files directly. From the CD Root, open the \sgf Directory. The directories are Professional (Professional Games), Amateur (Amateur Games) and Problems (TsumeGo and other types).

In case you do not have a program to read .sgf files, we have included on the CD, SmartGo:Viewer.  This free .sgf Reader works on the Microsoft Windows Operating System.  You can find the install program on the CD under \programs\SmartGoViewer.
