Edward Lasker Awards: This award is given to express the American Go Association’s appreciation for the long labor of a distinguished go organizer. This year we have two recipients, Sam Zimmerman, our longtime database manager, and Craig Hutchinson, who has kept our archives for over thirty years. Named to commemorate the contribution of chess Grand Master Dr. Edward Lasker, who learned go late in life, recognized its beauty and value, declared it a better game than chess, wrote a beginners book, "Go and Go-moku", and - with others - founded the AGA in 1935.
