A longtime contributor to the American Go E-Journal, former insei Kazunari Furuyama has returned with his popular EJ column, now in sgf files and re-named “Lessons with Kaz”. Kaz co-authored Kiseido’s “Get Strong at Joseki”, volumes 2 and 3 and is now teaching on KGS Plus.

Kaz updated his plans to start “Kaz Go Services” around March, for yet another way to improve your game. Watch http://www.kazsensei.com for developments.

In this lesson, Kaz invents an easy to remember name for a move combination that forces a dumpling shape, viz., the onion tesuji. Kaz embeds the onion tesuji in a series of practical problems, useful for players from 10 kyu to 4 dan.
