Member’s Edition: Lessons with Kaz: 3-4 Point Joseki

Tuesday November 25, 2014

Published in the November 25, 2014 edition of the American Go E-Journal.

As a follow-up to his previous articles on the Star Point Joseki, Kaz analyzes basic principles in the 3-4 point joseki for players from 17 kyu to 5 dan. In this game from one of his students, Kaz draws insightful comparisons between basic corner shapes and edge shapes, by using a rare joseki as a starting point that might throw your intuition off.

Kaz often uses comments like “$30 common mistake.” See the FAQ on his website (below) for details.
