Solution follows    (or click here to download SGF)

Correct.
Black 1 through 5 is the proper way to start. If White protects with 6, Black 7 aims to create a dead eye shape. After Black 11, White has only one eye.

Please download the SGF to much more easily play through the interesting maze of these variations as well as many others.

White variation.
If White tries to create eye space with 8 and 10, Black patiently squeezes from the outside through 17.

Another White variation.
White can try varying earlier with 6, but Black 7 and 9 capture at least three White stones, and leave White with only one eye.
