Asking for problems.
Black 1 invites White to invade at 2. Through White 10 is one local joseki, but given the whole board situation, White's left side potential is preferable to Black's lower side potential.


White variation.
White 2 is another good idea. Black has no other real choice but to respond with 3, but White now has two excellent choices at A or B.


White failure.
White, an amateur shodan, played 2 in the actual game. White 2 is a horrible move that forces Black to make the perfect shape with 3.


Better for Black.
Given the good choices that White has available in the previous lines, Black would have been better off with the more solid two space jump at 1.
