Solution follows    (or click here to download SGF)

Inferior.
Black 1 is a local joseki, but globally White has the opportunity to play the ideal extension at 6.

Game line.
Black 1 is also a joseki, but works much better globally. If White follows with the local joseki move at 2, Black can play an ideal extension at 5.

Even.
So to avoid the previous diagram, White can play at 2. One possible line of play to 14 gives a balanced position.
