Solution follows    (or click here to download SGF)

A mistake.
White 1 is a mistake. Black simply has to pull back at 2. Now A and B are miai for Black. White's marked invasion was not a success.

Correct.
Pushing ahead at White 1 is proper. Black can try to stand up at 2, but through 6, White's marked stone still has aji, e.g., after an invasion at A.

Black variation.
Black can also press at 2. Through 6, White has connected to the invading stone, but Black builds outside influence and reduces White's lower right area. The position is equal.
