Timid.
White 1 meekly responds to Black's approach move.
But when Black switches to 2, the feeling is that Black
has seized the initiative.
Still problematic.
If instead White approaches Black at 1, Black takes sente at 2.
Black uses this sente to again take the nice point at 6, which
is better than A in this fuseki.
Best.
In the game, White forced at 1 first.
Now White can approach the upper right at 3.
After White 7, Black doesn't have the nice response play at A,
because of the White 1, Black 2 exchange.
So in the game, Black, having no good continuation on the right side, switched to B.
Black variation.
Note that Black 4 is too easy on White.
After 7, White has quickly settled himself comfortably.
