Solution follows    (or click here to download SGF)

Too deep.
Clearly White must do something about Black's large framework in the upper right. However, White 1 has the shortcoming of not holding future promise for attacking weak Black stones. In addition, the move will swell Black's adjacent territories as the invading stone only becomes a burden to White.

More promising.
The White invasion at 1 is more promising. White not only won't have much trouble living, but also will have a chance to harass Black's right side group. Black can try to pincer the invading stone with 2, but White can quickly run out through 5, and Black's stones are now attackable.

Black variation.
Black can also try to press White from 2. However, through 5, White has room to settle deeper into Black's former sphere of influence.
