WEEK 9 - about capturing techniques

MATERIALS YOU'LL NEED: 9x9 demo board, class Go sets

DOUBLE ATARI : a move that puts two stones or groups in atari at once.

These shapes have a vital point for double atari or connecting. Where is it?

Pushing towards the edge. Atari this stone and show how it will run until it is trapped in the corner.
NOT ALL ATARIS ARE EQUAL. What is the best way to atari this stone?
What's the correct atari of the white stone here to push towards the edge?
LADDER (SHICHO) : capturing chain that keeps stones in atari and drives them to the edge. Place this pattern 3-4 lines into the board and demonstrate the ladder.
THE LADDER BREAKER: Does the ladder still work with the white stone there? Demonstrate.

WHEN A LADDER WON'T WORK: Even with the ladder breaker, the white stone can be captured.

THE NET. Demonstrate the net here.
