THE FOURTH US YOUTH GO CHAMPIONSHIP
The AGA is pleased to present another season of national individual competition for U.S. youth. Our goal for this program is to create more and better opportunities for American youth who are US citizens and reside primarily in the US to compete at higher levels, make new friends with their go-playing peers and others, recognize that there is a long-term view of playing go in the U.S. and ultimately, select the United States representatives in international competition.
Finalists selected at a series of regional tournaments will meet in June for the finals. The winners of the Senior and Junior Divisions will represent the United States in the World Youth Goe Championship next summer. The American Go Foundation will also provide each finalist with a $400 scholarship to this year's AGA Summer Youth Go Camp.
This year we will also be selecting national Single Digit Kyu (SDK) and Double Digit Kyu (DDK) Champions. These youth will not travel to the WYGC, but will receive a trophy and be recognized as the best youth players in their divisions.
