The AGA is pleased to present another season of national individual competition for U.S. youth, sponsored by The Ing Chang-ki Wei-chi Education Foundation. Our goal for this program is to create more and better opportunities for American youth who are US citizens and reside primarily in the US to compete at higher levels, make new friends with their go-playing peers and others, recognize that there is a long-term view of playing go in the U.S. and ultimately, select the United States representatives in international competition.
Finalists selected at a series of regional tournaments will meet in May for the finals. The winners of the Senior and Junior Divisions will represent the US in the World Youth Goe Championship next summer. The American Go Foundation will also provide each finalist with a $400 scholarship to this year's AGA Summer Youth Go Camp. $400 scholarships are also available to the 2008 Feng Yun Go Camp, a two-week intensive workshop immediately preceding the camp at the same location. Finalists will be free to claim both scholarships, a total of $800 toward the most itensive instructional program ever offered in the US.
