Ryan Li 1P enthusiastically describes this game’s background: “The epic battle between two very strong Korean professionals fighting for a grand prize of $250,000 USD. If you don’t know who they are, well, you need to spend some time on:

“Kim, Jiseok became 1P in 2004. Keeping an astonishing win percentage of 60-70 throughout his career, he is currently ranked #2 in Korea since 2013. After his marriage, Kim’s win record went up to 75%. Defeating Tang, Weixing 2-0 in the recent Samsung Cup in 2014, he is no doubt at the top of his career.

“Park, Junghwan is not coincidentally ranked #1 in Korea since 2012. Born in 1993, he achieved professional status at the age of 13. This guy is an absolute monster. Maintaining an annual win rate of ~75% ever since 2009, the prediction of his winning chance against most players is over 70%, i.e., you can be surprised when he loses. However, Park has not won a major world championship in his career before this tournament.

“Park won the first game in this best of three final. The official win/loss record between these two players is 17:5 in Park’s favor.”
