Beijing-Houston Tournament 2015

Houston GO Club will host this "Beijing-Houston Tournament 2015" scheduled to start on Aug. 4 for three full game days respectively on Aug. 4, 6, and 8. in Chinese Civil Center located at 5905 Sovereign Drive, Houston, TX. Approximately 10 players, which are supposed to be half of the total players, are invited from China consisted of Chinese companies' executives. We strongly encourage local player to register for this game! The register fee is $15.00.

There will be rewards for first three winners!

Myungwan Kim Workshop

Two day workshop for strong players (minimum 3 kyu) with Myungwan Kim 9d. We will have two groups: strong and stronger. The schedule will include Korean style openings, game reviews of workshop player's games, game reviews of championship games, and simultaneous games with Mr. Kim.

Inseong Hwang Workshop

Inseong Hwang lives in Europe and has a very popular online Go school, the American Yunguseng Dojang. He is a former Korean insei who has placed first or second in many European Tournaments. He is also the strongest player in the European rating system (EGF). We are fortunate that he will be visiting the United States for the U.S. Go Congress.
This workshop is open to players 15 kyu and up. It will include games, game analysis and lectures.

2015 Chang Qi Cup

The 2015 Chang Qi Cup is the first time that the semi-finals of a international professional tournament will be held in North America! Four top pros from China will compete on the campus of Harvard University for a berth in the Chang Qi Cup finals. This event will also include the inaugural American Chang Qi Tournament, an AGA-rated, 5-round tournament with over $15,000 in prize money. The event is free and open to the public and is hosted by the American Collegiate Go Association and the Shanghai Ing Foundation. Student organizers are encouraged to apply to help manage the event (see www.college-go.org for more info).

20th Anniversary Tournament

This will be our biggest tournament of the year, with a party to follow in the evening. We will have guests from the Nihon Ki-in in Japan.
