The 14th Annual San Diego Go Championship is hosted by the San Diego Go Club. This year we have an Open Section, Handicap Section, and Beginners Section. All Sections will be played with Fischer Time Settings with AGA rules.

This is an AGA affiliated event: Players must have current AGA membership to participate in this event, and will have agreed to have acknowledged and read the AGA Code of Conduct which can be found here: https://www.usgo-archive.org/aga-code-conduct

OPEN SECTION | 2 Day Event | Saturday, May 24th- Sunday, May 25th
This is an Open city tournament & anyone can win the City Champion title regardless of residency. This will be a 5-round Open (Strong Players) and Go professionals are allowed to play, & are eligible for the Overall Tournament Winner prize pool. The Open Section is Limited to 20 seats this year. (5/8/2025 Update: There are now only 13 spots left for the Open!) Should the Open Section fill up, the TD will prioritize players based on rank.

HANDICAP SECTION | 1 Day Event | Sunday, May 25th
This will be a 3-round, 1-day Handicap tournament. We will have three sections dedicated to a range of skill levels (19kyu-10kyu, 9kyu- 2kyu, 1kyu-1Dan+)

BEGINNERS SECTION | 1 Day Event | Sunday, May 25th
This Auxillary 13x13 Beginners tournament is a 4-round tournament that is intended for beginners 30kyu to 20 kyu, & is FREE* ENTRY, so they can get the experience of playing in a tournament. The Beginner Section is Limited to 20 seats this year. (5/8/2025 Update: There are now only 19 spots left for the Beginners Section!) Both adults and youth can play in this tournament. Note*: AGA Membership is required to participate in AGA affiliated tournaments.

Complimentary breakfast will be available in the morning, and Lunch will also be provided to all registered players! $700+ in cash prizes too!
