U.S. GO NEWS: Huang Tops Portland; Chamberlain Wins MGA Fall Tourney; Odhner & Wong Win In Pittsburg

HUANG TOPS PORTLAND: Vincent Zhuang took top honors in the Portland Tournament October 17-18. Thirty-three players participated. Winners were: Dan division: Vincent Zhuang (5-0), Jim Levenick (4-1), Zhuang Guozhong (2-3). Single-digit kyu division: Ben Sharvy (4-1), Jeremy Nelson (4-1), James Moore (3-2). Double-digit kyu division: Gordon Castanza (5-0), Jim Johnson (3-2), David Tweet (3-2). Youth: Vincent Zhuang (5-0). New AGA member: James Moore (3-2); Female: Cynthia Gaty (2-3). - Peter Drake

CHAMBERLAIN WINS MGA FALL TOURNEY: John Chamberlain 1d won the Massachusetts Go Association's Fall Tournament on October 18th, topping 24 players with a 4-0 record. David Saxner and Pete Schumer came in second and third, entering at 1-dan and 2-kyu respectively. -Eva Casey, Tournament Director

ODHNER & WONG WIN IN PITTSBRGH: Josiah Odhner 11k and Mark Wong 1k both went 3-0 to win their respective divisions in the October 19 Pittsburgh Fall tournament. The field of eight players ranging from 17 kyu to 1 dan was split into a double-digit kyu division and a single-digit kyu / dan division, and each group played a 3-round round robin. - Kim Warzinski
