Half-Point Victory Puts Wang on Top at 2025 Masters

Half a point has vaulted Yuan-Jyun Wang 9P to the lead in the standings in the 2025 North American Masters;
that was the margin of his 5th-round win Friday morning over Seonghoon On 9D, the only other undefeated player coming into that round. With On, Alex Qi, Cheng-Hao Hsiao and Henry Yu all 4-1 and two more rounds to play, the final outcome of this tournament is still very much up in the air. Wang’s razor-thin win underscores just how tight the competition has been at the 2025 North American Masters, promising an exciting finish as the top contenders battle it out on the board.
UPDATE: Yuan-Jyun Wang 9P defeated Cheng-Hao Hsiao in Round 6 Friday night, giving him the only undefeated record in the field.
