Chris Garlock | Published on 12/3/2025
The Orange County Go Club will host the Second Eternal Cup Southern California Go Championship on January 17–18, 2026, following the success of the inaugural Eternal Cup, which drew nearly 100 players.

This year’s event will again take place at the World Journal Newspaper (世界日报) headquarters in Monterey Park, located about 15 miles from downtown Los Angeles. Players can expect a full two-day, six-round tournament with a $6,000 prize pool provided by sponsors Fuland Capital and KYL Construction Corp. Michael Yixian Zhou is the event’s Organizer and Kevin Chao is the Director.

The Open Section champion will receive $1,600, with $1,000 awarded to the runner-up. Custom trophies will be presented to top finishers in all divisions.

The World Journal, the largest Chinese-language newspaper in North America, will also help promote the event to the broader community. Free lunch will be provided to all participants on both days.

Players must register online at www.goclubs.org by January 14, 2026, and an active AGA membership is required.
