The American Go Association is offering a free, online 1-hour beginner Go workshop designed especially for people who have always been curious about Go but never knew where to start.
The workshop will be led by Milan Mladenovic, recipient of the American Go Foundation’s Teacher of the Year award. The first session takes place on March 5, 2026, at 6:00 PM Eastern, and will be held via Zoom.
This introductory workshop is aimed at complete beginners. Participants will learn the basic rules and concepts of Go and will be guided step by step into playing their very first game. Class size is limited to 10 students, creating a small, welcoming environment with plenty of opportunity for questions and interaction.
After the workshop, participants will have the option to continue their Go journey by enrolling in a full 8-week online beginner course, where they will gradually build skills and progress toward playing on the full 19×19 board. Students who continue will also gain access to AGA learning resources and the opportunity to participate in North American Online League (NAOL), the largest online Go league in North America, organized by Milan Mladenovic in cooperation with the AGA.
AGA members are encouraged to share this opportunity with friends, family members, or coworkers who are Go-curious. Space is limited, and early sign-up is recommended. CLICK HERE for details and to sign up.
