Chris Garlock | Published on 5/19/2026

Raleigh — Go players from across the region will gather this summer for the fifth annual Burning Board Go Festival, set for June 15–21 at Camp Crabtree in Umstead State Park. The weeklong event offers a unique blend of competition, study, casual games, and social activities in a scenic wooded setting just outside downtown Raleigh.

Festival highlights include a three-day, six-round AGA-rated tournament, along with workshops, simultaneous games, and lectures by renowned Go teachers Yuan Zhou and Michael Chen.

In addition to organized events, participants can enjoy evening discussions, open gaming, and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow Go enthusiasts in a relaxed camp environment.

Accommodations include rustic cabins at Camp Crabtree, with offsite lodging options also available. Lunch will be provided on select days.

Registration is open now and must be completed by June 8. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
