Day One of the 2026 Memorial Day Tri-City tournaments is in the books, and the leaders have
emerged in all three cities.
At the 50th Maryland Open, Zhaonian Chen 2P sits atop the standings after Saturday’s action in Baltimore. In Chicago, DoHyup Kim 8D leads the field at the fourth annual Chicago Open, now the largest weekend Go tournament in the United States. And at the 15th Annual San Diego Go Championship, Siyuan Fang 8D holds the top spot heading into Sunday’s final rounds.
Players battled through packed schedules Saturday as the three-city event once again brought together many of the strongest competitors in the country for one of the biggest weekends on the American Go calendar.
