Four of the world’s top Go professionals — including world #1 Shin Jinseo and women’s stars Choi
Jeong and Kim Eunji — will compete next Sunday, May 31 in PlayGo.gg’s online “Battle of the Sexes” event.
The tournament will stream live on PlayGo.gg and YouTube, matching Shin and 2014 Samsung Cup champion Kim Jiseok against Choi Jeong, the most successful female player of the modern era, and rising teenage star Kim Eunji.
PlayGo.gg says the event is designed to spotlight the narrowing competitive gap between top male and female professionals. Choi Jeong made history in 2022 by becoming the first woman to reach the final of a mixed international major after defeating several elite male players, while Kim Eunji has already broken into Korea’s top 20 rankings at age 19.
“We invite the entire strategy gaming community to join us as we witness history in the making,” said PlayGo.gg co-founder Matthew Harwit.
