Wu Cruises, Xu Edges into ProQual Final

Chris Garlock | Published on 7/4/2026

It's Qiyou Wu 7d versus Michael Xu 5d for the 2026 NAGF ProQual championship.

Wu advanced to Sunday's best-of-three final with two convincing semifinal victories over Alan Huang 7d, winning both games by resignation. Xu's path was far more dramatic. Facing Jasper Liu 6d, he staged a come-from-behind, half-point victory in the opening game, then clinched the match with a 1.5-point win in Game 2—a combined margin of just two points. Click here for complete results and game records.

The championship match begins Sunday at 10:00 a.m. PDT (1:00 p.m. EDT).
