53 Countries Represented at World Amateur Go Championship in Korea

The 46th World Amateur Go Championship is underway September 6–13 at the Onnuri Sports Center in Mungyeong, Korea. This year’s event brings together 53 players, each representing a different country or territory. Justin Teng (left) is the US representative.  

The championship is hosted by the Korea Baduk Association, International Go Federation and Korea Baduk Federation, with cooperation from the Mungyeong City Baduk Association.

Support is provided by Mungyeong City, Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation. Competitors are staying at the Seoul National University Hospital Human Resources Development Center in Mungyeong.
