About this event
The U16 Girls & U16 Boys State Go Championship is hosted by the San Diego Go Club! (This event is intended for Youth Participants 16 years or under to compete. We have a separate event on goclubs.org for Beginners and Self-paired games for adults, so please register for those instead if they apply to you. ) The competition will be played at the EF Lanugage School in Point Loma on Saturday, September 6th, 2025
This will be a 3- Round Open & 3-Round Handicap youth tournament. Complimentary breakfast and Lunch will be provided for all registered players! Side games will also be available in between rounds for players & their families to enjoy.
Players must register by 11:59 pm, Monday, September 1st, 2025 to play in the first round in either Section.
If you plan to play in the Open Section, please make sure you are able to attend all your games. The U16 Open Section is Limited to 10 seats this year. Should the Open Section fill up, the TD will prioritize players based on rank. You must be at least 1 Kyu to be eligible to play in the U16 Open. The Top Board in the Open will be live-streamed displaying primarly board & clock's time settings. Please contact the Tournament Director if you have any questions or concerns.
On-site registration for rounds 2-3 allowed for the Handicap Section only.
The first 20 attendees to register will receive a blue ticket for priority line up for lunch on the day of the event! Lunch will be catered by Rubio's Coastal Grill , and attendees will get to build their own two taco plate. There will be an opportunity for seconds afterwards as well.
