Events - Event View

Iowa Go Society will be holding a tournament to determine our State Champion. All players are welcome to compete. The State Champion will be the top performing players that is an AGA Member and resident of Iowa, even if they are not the overall winner of the tournament.


The tournament will be two primary sections

Beginners 9x9 - FREE - No AGA membership required, games not rated. Rules will be first to a capture threshold, self-paired (exact rules will be displayed).


Open Section - Pre-registration required - $10 prior to event. Must be an AGA member in good standing.

Rated 19x19 games

4 rounds

30+5x30s byo yomi

All games in Open section will be Even, AGA rules, 7.5 komi,


Phones in Airplane Mode, with opponents approval, may be used as clocks with a clock app. Likewise, phones with opponents approval may be used to record games. If you are using a phone for an approved purpose, it must stay visible on the table at all times during the match and be in Airplane mode.
