There will be cash prizes, book prizes, and equipment prizes -- all of which attracts a large and diverse field of players, making this is a great way to play some intense Go face to face! Three rounds, 45 min. + OT, Japanese rules.

Registration: 10:00 - 10:40 sharp.
Entry: $12 general, or $6 youth / Go Center voting members.

First round begins 11:00 AM. You do not have to play all three rounds - just be sure to tell the Tournament Director your plans.

Lunch: The Go Center will provide pizza lunch, included with your registration (with the generous assistance of the AGA Chapter Rewards program).

Sections and Prizes: There will be an Open Section and a Handicap Section.
The Open Section will consist of the 8 strongest-rated players entering, for which there will be a $150 cash prize awarded to the player who scores 3 wins. There will be no 2nd place prize. All games in the Open Section will be played even, with no handicap and 6.5 komi.
All other players will be in the Handicap Section, and games will be handicapped according the the players' relative entry ratings. There will be prizes of Go books and Go playing equipment for the Handicap Section players who score 3 wins.

This is an American Go Association rated tournament, and AGA membership is required; please make sure your membership is current. You can join the AGA or renew online (or in person at the Go Center, but please come early to do that). More info on membership at
