5th Annual California State Go Championship
The 2022 California Go Championship will again be hosted by the San Diego Go Club at the San Diego Chess Club in Balboa Park on the Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving, November 26 & 27. California residency, which includes students, is required to win the title in the Open section... but all are welcome to compete in all sections. No go professionals are eligible for prizes, but are allowed to play. There will be over $1,000.00 in the prize pool distributed over the various sections.
All entry fees go into the prize pool.<!--break-->

Players must register, after November 1, 2022, online at https://www.goclubs.org by 11:59 pm Thursday, 11/24, to play in the first round. Walk-ins can play starting in round 2. On-site registration for rounds 2-7 is allowed.<!--break-->

The entry fee is $30 ($10 for youth not in Open) and players must have current AGA membership.<!--break-->

Pizza will be served for all players at lunchtime.<!--break-->

Balboa Park, for non-players, is the crown jewel of San Diego Parks: 9-museums, the World Famous San Diego Zoo, several gardens, and a free outdoor organ concert 52-weeks a year at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays.<!--break-->

Covid vaccination is highly recommended for players and spectators and masks should be worn. The playing area is large and can seat 150, but players also have the option of moving their games outside to tables in the courtyard (Average high temperature in San Diego in November is 67-degrees).<!--break-->
