The Eastern Youth Open is an exciting 4-round open Go tournament designed for young players of all skill levels under the age of 18. Taking place on June 7, 2025, this event provides a unique opportunity for youth to engage in a formal, high-standard competition within a welcoming and supportive environment.
Building on the success of the New York Youth Open, the Eastern Youth Open celebrates the power of Go to nurture confidence, concentration, and strategic thinking—skills that extend far beyond the board.
Awards and Recognition The top six players in each division will be recognized for their achievement with trophies, medals, and certificates, honoring both performance and dedication.
Whether you are an experienced player or new to tournaments, the Eastern Youth Open offers a meaningful opportunity to grow, connect, and shine. Parents are warmly encouraged to attend and support their children as they take part in this enriching and inspiring event.
Whether you are headed to the US Go Congress in July or just wanting to sharpen your skills in an AGA rated tournament, this event is for you! $250 guaranteed prize fund with prizes at all levels. 4 rounds, Fischer timing - 30 minutes base with 10 second increments.
In addition to our regular game session, the SMGC is hosting self-paired AGA rated games. All are welcome and if you want to play a rated game, please ensure you have an up-to-date AGA membership.
